Seacoast of Bohemia

I have seen two such sights, by sea and by land! But I am not to say it is a sea, for it is now the sky:
Betwixt the firmament and it you cannot thrust a bodkin's point.

Newcastle Lane

As promised, this post is all pictures of the house! Nick and I spent all day yesterday on nesting-type activities -- him on putting together my new dresser, which I love, and me on a very thorough cleaning. It felt very good. I think working at the house a little has let me know even more that I can settle in here. This morning we took Ernest to the vet to get a prescription for more of his special cat food, so he's all settled in now too. I also bought him a small white mousie, which he has actually played with a little. So now, room by room, 38 Newcastle Lane, Penkhull, Stoke on Trent! Otherwise known as Ernest's New Kingdom.

First, here's the dining room/front room. You enter off the street into this room. Those weird graffiti things on the wall above the corner cupboard and Nick's desk are actually lights, installed by the owner.

From the front door:

And from the door to the living room:

Living room from the door to the front room:

And from the stairs:

Close-up of secondhand t.v. stand and IKEA lamp (both of which I love, so I'm sorry this picture is so dark:

Close-up of secondhand telephone table (telephone table!) with ancient phone Nick took from work:
Kitchen (off living room). You can see the new silverware holder from IKEA, but not the nice new dishes:
Kitchen cabinets from door to the back patio. New clock from Nick's brother Danny!:

Bathroom (off kitchen):
And Ernest in the bathroom, owning things. (Note new IKEA toothbrush holders):

Upstairs! Spare bedroom/soon to be office:

Bedroom:

Close-up of new dresser! I love it!

And the view out the window.

lovely!!! Please tell me that that's a combo washer/dryer in the kitchen--those are my favorite, though at times frustrating, British appliances!

Ha! We aren't so fancy, Tim! We have to dry our clothes on a rack!
