New tattoo! New tattoo! New tattoo!!!
I've done it. I've gone and gotten the third one. And my god, it's wonderful.
I've been to Ben Around Tattoos. I've seen Ben. And I've gotten the most wonderful gorgeous fantastic tattoo.
I could not be more pleased. Everyone who walked in was like "dude, that's the best lettering I've ever seen." And they were SO RIGHT. He convinced me to make all sorts of changes to my ideas -- it's about three times larger than I anticipated; the text on the arm is far more extensive than I thought it would be; the script is kind of fancy. And he was completely correct about everyone one of them.
He worked about 3.5 hours on me today, and the color isn't done yet. But you can see how totally awesome it is already in the pictures below.
The text: "I am not furnished like a beggar, therefore to beg will not become me. My way is to conjure you." Source: epilogue, As You Like It, spoken by Rosalind/actor.
I'll talk more (maybe) about why this passage, and why the ivy that surrounds it. But for now, just pictures:

Seriously, when someone gets a tattoo that large I always think to myself, "OHHHHHHHH, mistake, mistake." But THAT tattoo that you have undertaken is fabulously breathtaking and beautiful. I would walk around without a shirt for the rest of my life if I had that tattoo. You have made the best tattoo choices of anyone I have ever come across. And I know A LOT of tattooed people. A LOT. Anyway. Love it. -Whisper
god, that's GORGEOUS! already! i can't wait to see it live, "in the flesh"!
It's so pretty! Wow.
Oh, you are changing minds about big tattoos! It's lovely, and it's the best epilogue ever! Your skin should be taught in upper-level English courses.
I showed Keegan your tattoo last night, and we agreed that it is the coolest tattoo we have ever seen. I couldn't sleep after we looked at it because I was so jealous and wanted to think about what I'll get next!!!
WOW. That is gorgeous. I often debate about getting a tattoo (i have a few definite ideas about what i want), and yours is seriously urging me to get one of my own.
