"Miss Ginny, I have to go potty!" says Brian. I rush over.
"Good job for telling me, Brian," I say. "Let's go!" I take him into the bathroom. (Brian is barely three.) Suddenly, I hear wailing outside.
"Brian, handle this on your own, like a big boy!" I say, and sprint outside. A trail of tearful babies greets me. "My god, y'all, what happened during that two seconds?" I say. Then I spot Laurette, not quite two, determined and curly-haired, booking it twoards the next baby, fingers outstretched gleefully. She grabs his face and PINCHES. The baby joins the chorus. "LAURETTE!!!" I shout. "NICE TOUCHING!" My voice does not sound nice.
She stops, looks up at me, and pinches him again. "Laurette!" I say "The babies are crying! Stop!" I run over and hold her back. She starts to cry and lunges towars the last baby, hands grabbing empty air. "Stop, Laurette! No pinching! No hitting! You have to touch nicely! Time out!" I say. She starts to wail. "Do you understand?" I ask her. "Noooooooo," she sobs and looks at me with pure hate in her eyes, fingers making useless pinching gestures in the air.
I missed working with kids.

That girl needs watching! When I was little someone like her pinched me so hard on the chin I had to get stitches!
