the entry with jessica's poetry
0 Comments Published by ginny on Friday, January 5, 2001 at 11:56 PM.This entry is not written by me, primarily. This is the entry where I'm going to post all of Jessica's wonderful, wonderful poetry that I have. (She has more. I just don't have copies of it.) She doesn't have these poems up on her diary, but they should have a home on the web because of their surpassing brilliance and wonderfulness. So here they are. Read them. Love them. Tell Jess you love them. Sigh contentedly. Oh, and they're better in the original because they have pictures. Pictures of captain planet. And of brak.
Mighty Blast of Rage
in honor of Dragon Ball Z
Seething and breathing
Dragon Ball Z
Vegeta throws some grass in the air
That one guy looks like a mime
Frieza's in 6 pieces, acting all scared
Goku's appearance marks stock footage time.
Ode to a Gummi Shark
Sitting in a pool of gathered gummi moisture,
The blue gummi shark sits alone on the stairs.
Gelatin molded into the shape of the predator,
Of its cruel fate, blissfully unaware.
If it could think,
what would it think?
Boy this really stinks.
Its purpose in life, to be eaten,
This purpose, never to be meetin'.
Now sitting by itself, never to decompose,
Never to be blended with juices gastric.
Pity with me, passerby,
The fate of a mixture of horse hoof and plastic.

Gummi Shark II
A history of mystery
The blue gummi shark
Ginny and I saw it
Aloof in the dark
We poked it with a leaf
A single ant ran away
Although I thought it impossible
The gummi shark was more depressing than in the day!
Gummi shark,
Decomposing like nuclear waste
You possibly still retain
Your original taste
But who will know now,
We limn your history
Your sad secret tale
Muddled by the FSB
Or the equivalent forces
Of Rebecca Cullers and James Chow
Who will ever know the full story
Of the gummi shark now?
In the Jungle Trilogy
IN THE JUNGLE
Whoa whoa whoa
We’re in the jungle!
Whoa, man,
Look out for Communists!
In the jungle, Captain Planet
Comes to our aid.
Linka, Kwami, Ma-Ti,
Wheeler, and Gi!
In the jungle
We cannot bungle
Our Secret Mission!
Must! Fight!
Hoggish Greedly!
Uh-oh,
Our show was canceled!
IN THE JUNGLE II
When I’m
hangin’
in the jungle
I get my mad
moves on!
I beat up Ma-Ti!
Power of Heart my Ass!
IN THE JUNGLE III
Ninjas!
Do you think I’d be a cool ninja?
Well, I do!
Even if you don’t.
IN THE JUNGLE, REDUX
finally out of the jungle.
attacked by young communists.
too tired to use capital letters.
exhaustion.
it is impossible for me to die, pygmy scum.
Because...I’m a vampire!
Poems on the Fire Caves
In the Lost and Ancient Language of English
I. We are in the arctic
Searching for the Fire Caves.
In the arctic
it is cold,
so very cold.
We play Scrabble to pass the time.
II. When we reach the Fire Caves
We will achieve transcendence.
Photos taken there
have red eyes
No amount of retouching can erase.
We will be in the presence of God.
III. A Haiku on the Fire Caves:
Fire Caves Are Cool.
Not literally you know
Ironically FUCK!
IV. Inside the Fire Caves,
It's hot and muggy.
They built the Fire Caves next to a middle school
sometimes kids sneak in to smoke and make out.
Someone left a can of Mr. Pibb behind.
We are thirsty, we drink the Mr. Pibb
it tastes like evil
Which tastes like stale sugar.
V. Now I am in hell,
Eternally tormented by fire snakes.
Oh eternal torment is horrible.
Nothing here to see,
Except Three's Company.
Actually it is much worse
But I wanted it to rhyme.
I can't imagine such torment,
But maybe you can
Because you're probably a much more
Imaginative person than I am.
