I have seen two such sights, by sea and by land! But I am not to say it is a sea, for it is now the sky:
Betwixt the firmament and it you cannot thrust a bodkin's point.

I wanted Mark Warner for president!

Oh MAN. I just read that Mark Warner isn't seeking the presidential nomination for 2008. I am so disappointed. I really want that man to be president of the united states. He was a fantastic governor, and he's absolutely marvelous at uniting people with usually disparate interests. Having met him in person, I found him an inspiring presence, and I've always lovd what he has to say. Moreover, I thought he could win. I really did.

So this means we're nominating Hillary, I guess. Suck. In contrast -- I don't like her, I think her reputation (whether deserved or not) for ruthless unscrupulousness and her association with the particularly feckless parts of Bill's presidency doom her to unelectability, and I don't even know that she'd make a particularly good president.

Which means, I suppose, that we'll have another Republican president. I really honestly don't think Hillary Clinton has a chance to win. Who will it be? Jeb Bush? God. What have we wrought?

I rarely talk about politics in my journal (I don't feel qualified, and I don't like stirring up anger), but this I just have to post about, because it makes me SO DISAPPOINTED. I like Mark Warner a whole whole lot! He would have made a great national leader! And by 2012, he'll be far too long gone from the governorship to make a run. Damn.

If it won't send you into having a coronary, I know what you mean. I was even thinking of voting for him if he ran. As one of the people in the dept. here mentioned, I think he has some nastiness in the woodshed that he doesn't want coming out. That's what most politicans mean when they say they want to "send more time with the family." I better get my third party vote revved up I suppose.
