Gracious me, I haven't updated in a long time. One of the things that's very true for me about writing – and I suspect this is so for many people – is that, even with a low-pressure, almost-entirely-crap medium like a blog, the longer I don't write in it, the more anxious about it I become. You have to practice at words, even blog-style words.
But to update (very leisurely) events in my life:
I finished the semester, though both of the papers I wrote still need significant work if I'm going to keep working with the ideas I was trying to capture. Which I do hope to do. While I was in New York, Rob E. and Mike recommended some books that might help.
I went to Roanoke for the last days of Hanukkah/Christmas.
I went to New York for New Year's with SotL New York, SotL State College, SotL Texas, and most of SotL Charlottesville. It was fun and exhausting. Sean took us on a guided tour of the CNN studios, where he works (he does lighting), and it was awesome. Rebecca took a bunch of cool pictures with my camera which are now up on flickr here. We had delicious Ukranian food, delicious Thai food, and delicious pizza food. We saw some stunning exhibits at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. We played Guitar Hero. We had an awesome party at Sean's.
I came home and watched a lot of movies and read a lot of books. I went up to the abandoned Blue Ridge Sanatorium for the first time. Pictures to come.
As usual these days, too tired (read: lazy) to complete this entry in entertaining or informative manner. But soon.
