People, a very scary thing happened overnight last night: my computer typed something all by itself before a heading on an existing document that said FOOTNOTES. It typed "poop."
My computer is possessed! Possibly by my sister!
Meanwhile, I am reading and absolutely loving J. L. Austin's How to Do Things with Words. E.F., the professor of the class for which I am reading it, warned us that it would be difficult, but I find his style delightful and not difficult at all! Especially compared to say, Foucault. Even compared to Descartes. Actually, perhaps I only have a problem with people who originally wrote in French. Wouldn't that be fortunate -- if the only time I couldn't understand something would be if it had originally been in French? It would mean that I could understand almost everything in the world, only excepting a singular (though admittedly important) body of knowledge. Sadly, however, this is not the case. I have difficulty understanding plenty of things which have no relation to French at all.
(Also the French for reading class I am taking so I can pass the French proficiency test seems to be going fine -- I understand it. Perhaps it will in fact help me to better understand Foucault eventually.)

I would not have typed "poop" with my disembodied aura. That's just gross.
Butts? - Now THAT is comic gold.
