David came to visit and we went to see SotL's Titus Andronicus! It was fun. I particularly liked: the way Titus spilled everyone's 1970s-era water glasses when he went mad; the cornbread baby-pudding; how Titus was sitting at his desk when Revenge et. al. came in; the slingshot letters to the gods. It was, I think, an extra-Ovidian production, and I appreciate that. We went to the cast party briefly, but felt old.
David gave me advice on my halloween costume, which is being constructed by the "cut and see" method, whereby I just make a bunch of more or less unplanned incisions into the fabric and hope it turns out okay. I am no longer Oscar Wilde, as a) I couldn't find appropriate pants b) I didn't look very good as Oscar Wilde. I am now Fortuna, goddess of luck. She's a renaissance feature, and has a wheel on which men go up and down. I made my wheel out of an embroidery hoop, chopsticks, and some plastic cowboys and indians.
